Where to install the scratching post

Cats prefer to scratch in areas where they live and move around the most. Place the scratching post near the area where they regularly walk, play, and rest, or near the area where they tend to scratch. The more accessible and visible the object is, the more likely your cat will naturally adopt it. The scratching post should be flat and stable.

 

How to encourage its use

Your pet's curiosity is key. Spray liquid catnip or gently rub a little catnip on the sisal rope to encourage your pet to explore. Playtime near the scratching post also increases their interest and helps them understand that it's their space.

 

Create a habit

Cats learn through repetition. Praise them when they use the scratching post, and if they move toward the furniture, calmly redirect them to the scratching post. With the right placement, most cats quickly become attached to it.
